Ryan's recap of the album says it best:
"The artwork represents myself and pieces of my childhood and all the way through my adult years. With the split pictures on the cover, It represents any person on their good days and their bad days. Some days you're happy and some days you're angry. Emotions range to everything in between.
But with any emotion you carry each day, it doesn't mean you deserve any less love or acceptance, just remember to be you and be absolutely UNAPOLOGETIC about it. Thats what this album is about. You will notice it starts off with a more soft, happy, reminiscent vibe with one my most favorite songs on the album called "My Kinda Heaven." Which if you listen and close your eyes, for a moment, it can take you back to the more simple times in life... a day at Grandma's house. I wrote this song, with some amazing folks, about my Great Grandma Gilliland. The sweetest smile, softest voice and best damn Cornbread and Hominy you've ever tasted.
Dont try to focus on what genre these songs fit the mold to. You wont be able to! Which is another reason why I love it. But as you listen through, you'll notice it will take you through the roller coaster of life's emotions. Heartbreak, Pride, Resentment, Peace, Accomplishment, Fun, Love, Depression, and even Hatred. This album carries a message to you through the experiences of my life that hopefully you can relate to. The message I hope you take away from this project is that no matter how hard you work, or how much you sacrifice for things, someone will ALWAYS have something negative to say about you. Even if they don't know you or your story. So recognize the ones that stand by you and love them dearly and hold them close. Hold your head up and smile, even while holding up a middle finger if needed, be YOU be PROUD and be UNAPOLOGETIC!"
